The Italian Ministry of Culture with Cinecittà (the city of movies) established a fund of 1.200.000 euros for 2022 to support the commercial circulation abroad of Italian movies. Mr. Roberto Stabile, Head of Special 
International Projects of Cinecittà & Head International Department of Anica, presented the fund at a conference at W Hotel on the Palm. The conference was attended by international distributors and professionals, UAE-based bloggers, and media. Mr. Stabile illustrated the way to access the fund to the present UAE and Gulf-based companies. The love for Italian classic movies has been always on within the cine-enthusiastic but there is an urge to spread awareness of contemporary Italian productions for which often the language barriers didn’t help.

The eligible films for the call are feature films or fiction, documentary or animation primarily destined for theatrical release, 100% Italian movies or Italian majority co-productions.Those who can apply are foreign domestic independent distribution companies, whose main activity is film theatrical distribution at the following conditions: feature and animation films are required at least 6 screenings a week, for documentaries at least 3 screenings per week.
The fund covers up to 30% of the costs with a maximum of 30.000€.
