The Consul General of Pakistan, Hussain Muhammad, has described overseas Pakistanis as a vital pillar of the national economy, highlighting their significant contributions through remittances sent via formal channels.
He was speaking at the launch ceremony of Index Exchange’s awareness campaign titled “Ab Ki Baar — Roshan Pakistan Ki Bahaar.” The event brought together members of the Pakistani community and business leaders.
The Consul General noted that remittances play a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s economic stability and supporting sustainable development. He termed the campaign a positive initiative that acknowledges the efforts of the diaspora while promoting a brighter and self-reliant future, particularly through the adoption of green energy solutions.
Executive Director of Index Exchange, Humayun Murad, said the organization remains committed to providing innovative and efficient financial services while contributing to national progress. He added that the campaign is designed to encourage increased remittance flows alongside promoting renewable energy, especially solar power, as a long-term solution to the country’s energy challenges.
Trade and Investment Counsellor Ali Zeb Khan highlighted that such initiatives help strengthen remittance inflows while creating new opportunities for investment and sustainable growth. He stressed the importance of promoting green energy projects to address ongoing energy challenges.
Chief Operating Officer Syed Abdul Salam said the campaign reflects a broader vision of empowering customers with financial convenience while guiding them towards a sustainable future. He noted that solar energy is increasingly becoming a necessity of the modern era.
Chief Business Officer Mir Ke Rasool remarked that every remittance represents a story of hard work and responsibility, adding that the campaign links these contributions with energy independence through solar solutions.
The ceremony was attended by prominent members of the Pakistani community, including Press Counsellor Saleh Muhammad, along with other distinguished guests.
Under the campaign, customers sending remittances to Pakistan through Index Exchange will be entered into a raffle draw, offering them a chance to install solar panels at their homes—an initiative aimed at connecting individual contributions with national development.
The campaign carries the message: “Jo Dil Hai, Jo Hai Jaan — Aao Karein Roshan Pakistan.”
